Scope of works:
Oliver Connell & Son Ltd were contracted by Grove Developments to carry out the groundworks, RC Frame and external landscaping for this scheme.

Oliver Connell & Son Ltd took on the Principal Contractor/ Designer role for this project  and were heavily involved in the early stages of the design to help value engineer the scheme saving the client time and money whilst delivering a high-quality build.

The project was serviced by the in-house Plant Department utilising over 15,000m2 of Skydeck falsework, placing booms and selected plant from our fleet of over 75 excavators.

 

Project Constraints & Build sequence

As part of the tendering procedure, OCS carried our detailed pre-construction studies and value engineering proposals for the client, saving both time and money in the construction of the hotel.

 

The basement, constructed completely below the ground water table, was in excess of 8000m2. Serviced by a placing boom and 2 tower cranes, strategically positioned to service the site, we utilised our own in-house peri falsework to form the ballroom roof structure. 26m concrete beams spanning the ballroom were among many of the value engineered solutions provided by OCS.
